Red Apple Fireworks is a premier direct-to-customer (DTC) company that has provided exceptional pyrotechnical products like these for years. 

The company’s history goes back to 1979. Two brothers, Doug and Mike, watched their parents build Red Apple from the ground up. Over the decades, they have expanded the company to include a diverse and dedicated team of fireworks specialists. However, the company still maintains its familial roots. 

Red Apple’s products have always been visually dazzling. They use the best ingredients from worldwide sources. The colors and designs of their firework sets are spectacular. But in order to thrive, Red Apple’s digital presence needed to match.

THE PROBLEM

When Red Apple Fireworks reached out to DigitlHaus, they had several problems with their web hosting and design. They were unhappy with the outdated and underperforming services of Magento 2.

This standard eCommerce service placed a particularly high cost of ownership on Red Apple. Their online presence was lackluster at the time. Red Apple Fireworks knew that optimizing their online business would require dedicated developers and a skilled design team.

The company’s digital tools had a number of functionality and design issues. For example, the team at Red Apple complained that their store malfunctioned whenever they updated it with new products or features.

User experience on mobile devices was also clunky and awkward. Magento’s eCommerce themes provided a subpar user experience. As a result, their conversion rates were not optimal.

WHAT WE DID

The team at DigitlHaus was able to address all of the problems that Red Apple faced with their web presence. We successfully migrated Red Apple to BigCommerce Enterprise, curating a completely customized and interactive shopping experience for their customers.

The new Red Apple Fireworks online store is designed to work seamlessly on desktop and mobile devices. Our team created a high end, streamlined user flow built for conversions.

For instance, we developed an automatic store-locator feature. This feature redirects new orders to the nearest Red Apple warehouse. When customers first land on the site, they would automatically be assigned to the specific warehouse via their IP.

Our team also designed customized mega-menus to display in detail the company’s products. Red Apple’s new online store features clear descriptions and visuals of fireworks available in different package offerings. Product descriptions include visual color swatches, effect icons, and brand logos.

Customers can also search and filter by the company’s inventory by criteria, including:

Their product pages now feature videos, illustrations, iconography, and accessible educational content. This information allows the consumer to know exactly what Red Apple’s fantastic products can do and how they will appear in the sky.

Our team implemented a UGC (user-generated content) widget to automatically display customer photos and posts on specific product pages. When a satisfied customer includes a relevant hashtag with a clip of Red Apple’s fireworks, other consumers can see and comment on automatically.

We also integrated Stamped. This technology displays customer reviews, questions, and testimonials. Our designers customized the front-end of this feature to match Red Apple’s signature branding.

Finally, the DigitlHaus team developed an in-store pickup option for the Red Apple Fireworks store. This feature allows customers to select a location from which to pick up their online order.
